Currently, TWE has an ER10 Store Pick on offer for £45.
Yeah, I meant StaggJr instead of the AC Stagg. It’s actually hard to get these days. Taylor would be the middle ground there, same mash but at 50% and availability is “okay”
But you can see that the bottles are unopened, so it’s actually impossible to drink them ![]()
STILL unopened…But yes, the barrier to entry is indeed high. Restocking is difficult (and expensive) to obtain
If it were meant for us to just look at the stuff, then there would be brown water in there and no whiskey or rum. The master distillers create all these wonderful spirits to drink. So here’s to the bottles, glasses on the table, and honoring the craftsmanship of the distillers. Anything else would be a sin.
There’s Weller 12 available here for 60€ (just as q.e.d for the recent discussion. Shipping from France ruins it, though).
Thanks for the tip anyway! ![]()
I’ll open a Taylor BiB when I get a chance, let’s see how it goes…
The Weller 12 Years costs €200 here in Berlin.
Believe me, that’s a bargain compared to the one from France including shipping costs.
p.s. No, I didn’t buy it at that price
Learned to love it on-site at Willett, I’m not really a cocktail guy but an Old Fashioned with pure Kentucky definitely gets me excited!
Oh yeah ![]()

That one seems to be selling like hotcakes… almost missed it. Luckily I managed to find a shop where it was still available and ordered a bottle right away ![]()
Just tried it and yes, it’s good.
@AntiSEBtisch, is it true that the selected staves aren’t used as a barrel, but rather thrown INTO the barrel?
Ah, that’s why Inferno doesn’t exist anymore, you guys bought everything up ![]()
No one can say we RX members don’t know what’s good ![]()
At least that’s how I understood it, the staves are in one piece, which means the barrel lid has to be opened, then the staves are placed inside and the barrel is closed and filled.
“*For Maker’s Mark Private Selection, participants pick a custom recipe of exactly 10 finishing staves from 5 unique wood types. These staves are placed inside a cask-strength bourbon barrel, which is then aged for nine additional weeks in a limestone cellar to extract specific flavors before bottling”
EDIT: We received the barrel, but the staves are separate and no longer in the barrel. However, we’re filling the ex-MM barrel with the Australian rum “Killik”. In a few years we’ll have the result!*
Absolutely crazy how fast this MM sold out. None of us, and the retailers either, would have thought a bourbon would fly off the shelves like this. Yes, thanks for your support!
That sounds exciting! ![]()
Is that the extreme Klk from FRC(WTF) from the steel tank
