Hey community,
For a while now I’ve been hearing the same thing in your survey replies: “I love high-quality rum, but nobody around me does.” Tatsing rum alone is fine. Drinking rum with someone who actually wants to argue about why a Hampden hits different at 8 vs. 21 years: that’s something else.
So I built something for that.
The Community Member Map is now live. Open the latest RumX app (download the update in the iOS App Store or Android Play Store), tap the Community tab, and you get a world map of every RumX member who set their city. Today, just a few hours after the launch, that’s already over 300 of you, and the count moves every hour. Pan around. Zoom in on your region. The person you’ve been replying to in the forum for two years might be a 20-minute drive away.
What’s on the map

One pin per city with at least one RumX member. Tap a pin, the bottom sheet opens: a tasting-activity chart for that city, the monthly Top-3 leaderboard, and the full member list. Tap a profile, see their collection, follow them, message them in the forum.

Avatar pins for cities with 5 or more members. The most active taster of the month gets the face on the pin. So you see who is drinking there, not just that somebody is.

Your own pin gets a gold ring. Same treatment as RX+ avatars. You find yourself at a glance.

Smart clustering so 300 pins don’t pile up over central Europe. Tap a cluster, it zooms in. Tap again, zooms further.

A “Welcome to your city” card that pops into your feed the first time your region picks up a few members. So you don’t miss the moment your hometown becomes a community.
A note on privacy
The map only ever shows the city you set yourself. Not your home address, not your live location, not your IP. If you don’t set a city, you don’t appear at all. You can change or remove it anytime in your profile. That part is not going to change.
This is V1, and I want your input.
Everything you see today is V1, shaped by what you told me in the RumX community survey. If you haven’t taken it yet, please do. It’s the strongest signal I use when deciding what to build next. This map exists because you asked for it there.

- Local meetups & tastings. Should the map surface upcoming events in your city?
- Region-based forum topics. Auto-suggest threads from your region?

Try it
- Update RumX to the latest version (App Store / Play Store).
- Open the app, Community tab, Member Map.
- Set your city if you haven’t yet.
- Find someone close. Say hi.
