Bottle value indexed on auction price

I was surprised to see that my bottle of Planteray 3 stars for an increase of +2000% in value. After checking, it seems that for some reason there are bottles between 500€ and 600€ being auctioned. I know this is an extremely specific situation, but in the situation where a bottle is available in shops in large quantity, should the auction amount have any impact on the bottle value?

In rare cases, an auction is linked to the wrong RX-ID (usually the auction houses do the mapping themselves. This can lead to transposed numbers and careless errors). Incorrectly assigned auctions can be reported via the «…» on the price development page:

These are then reviewed and corrected by the RumX team.

I have that problem too and it affects the Inn&Out Shop. Bottles are listed there at utopian prices and then they get pulled up by a review. You need to look into that @Oliver. For example, with the Jamaican Soul and Trinidad Soul from Rumclub.

I noticed both points too, since I have both a 3 Stars and the two Souls from the Rumclub series

At Cane from the Rum Club too. The prices from the Inn&Out Shop really shouldn’t be the standard there.

Thanks Florent and BananaJoe, you were both right. These were two separate problems:

Plantation 3 Stars (+2000 %): Three auction lots of a different, far more expensive rum were linked to it. That’s fixed, along with all other reported links. The 3 Stars now has no auction value, which is correct, because nobody auctions it.

Rumclub bottles at 299.99 / 499.99 €: When a bottle had no auction results, the app used the cheapest shop offer as its value. For a sold-out bottle, that’s often one reseller’s asking price, not what the bottle actually sells for.

With the next app update:

  • Collection value comes only from auction results: the median of the last 24 months, at least two sales, including buyer’s premium. That’s the same number as the market value on the bottle page.
  • If a bottle has no auction results, we use the price you paid and show no gain or loss.
  • Shop offers stay visible on the bottle page, but they no longer count as value.

If you spot an auction result that doesn’t belong to a bottle, tap “Report incorrect link” in Price trend.

Thanks for fixing @Oliver. Even if the Look of the value of my collection will be hurting me after the Update :joy:
