Next week I’ll tell you a bit about my new, small series BACCHANALIA with Swell De Spirits.
I once had the crazy idea to create a completely new bottle haptics, in which we dip the entire bottle by hand in wax. Then comes a fine, thick, richly decorated cotton paper label. Each bottle thus becomes a unique piece, as there will be natural elevations and irregularities here and there.
The first attempts looked promising. Keep your fingers crossed for us
As for the hand-picked casks, I can of course only say: uncompromising selection as always. I’ve sent poor Mikael through multiple sampling rounds over the course of a year.
Even though the first cask is a bit older, some of you here will have already tasted it at an earlier point in time.

With such beautiful bottles, I’d always worry that I could get the same stuff for cheaper if I skipped all the fancy packaging.
And even more — that a good portion would just sit unopened gathering dust as decoration on collector’s shelves.
But since I’ve also bought bottles purely based on how nice the label looks, I guess I’m throwing stones in a glass house myself .
Then one can hardly wait to see what happens, I can just imagine that one or another shipping company destroys the artwork during transport

Rest assured that the incredible effort we’ll put into design won’t be reflected in the price at all — it will even be possible to calculate this exactly once the details are published.
By the way, that’s the case with all my editions.
I can already understand your approach. For me, as a passionate artist at heart, it’s simply impossible to just put a spirit into a generic, soulless bottle. My mind works a bit differently.
Wherever my name is on it, there’s always a holistic, synesthetic experience.
But for purely purist generic products, there are plenty of providers out there, like Rum Artesanal, which I also think are great
Haha I’ll keep a close eye on that like a hawk. But yeah, with wax it won’t be easy. On the other hand, the wax used by Swell is very elastic. Fingers crossed.
