Is there any event promoted/organized by RX in 1802 this year?
Currently nothing official is planned. We’d get together at the Cocktail Street after the trade show and then see what we feel like doing.
I’m really looking forward to it ![]()

If someone can get their hands (foot?) on a pair of these and don’t want for themselves, I would be very interested but I’m not in WLP this year unfortunately
Available at the Angostura booth or bar 1802
Darn, I was hoping to run into you there on Sunday!
@cigares, will you be there?

Especially when you hear that the quality of the rums on display (83 Islands, STCE, Nine Leaves, Savanna, Mhoba…) is quite decent once again. Only the Wedderburn apparently didn’t seem to convince.
Shared my impressions via Instagram Story - you can find them here: https://www.instagram.com/stories/jakobandtaste/3994859631758810348
Great stuff from Savanna, Neisson Mizunara was also excellent. Interesting light Trinidad from Colors of Rum from 2017 and diluted to 47%, but a very tasty easy sipper. Fiji 2014 reminds me again of the 2001 Heavy Profile and is coming more and more onto the market. I personally found the High Ester Planterays from Barbados borderline - they didn’t do it for me.
Wedderburn from Velier I didn’t think was bad, I missed Long Pond STCE.
Nine Leaves - Oli tested it and was quite positive, quality-wise it seems to be heading back towards the first release of the Single Casks.
Gourmet Pool Long Pond is also worth mentioning - a really good rum, hats off. It maintains the high standard of the Enmore, if not even better.
I found the ten-year-old Clairins quite different, blue with much less cask notes than red, I prefer the »younger« variant.
Elixir Distillers had a new Rum Trail series on offer with this time stronger releases from Panama, Guyana (blend of Versailles 2001 and Diamond 2003), Jamaica (MMW 1998) and Trinidad (Caroni 1997). They deliver what you’d expect, although on first impression I didn’t find the Guyana blend really convincing - the Versailles profile doesn’t work for me with sweet Column Still rum.
