Recently, I came across the Samaroli glass. I find it quite interesting. Anyone any experiences with this glass?

I think these and the 1920 blender glasses look absolutely fabulous. But are they okay to wash and dry?

I would not want to put any of these in the dishwasher.

I would recommend not to do any of your glasses for good drinks in the dishwasher. I always wash them by hand. I have a sort of 1920’s blender glass. Because it’s a bit more sturdy than the blender’s glass, washing is actually not a problem as it’s quite robust.

I do have some copita glasses, which are quite sensitive though. They need to be dried with care.

I love mine. But difficult to find atm…

did you have the opportunity to compare it with other glasses, in particular the 1920s blender glass?

Yes. For me they are very different. The Samaroli is much bigger and fit my nose more comfortably. The 1920 is smaller but also the opening is tighter, so the concentration of vapours that goes out is more powerful. Sometime too powerful with young/strong spirit. I use the 1920 rather for old spirits that may be a bit weaker in order to extract their full aromas…

For those who would like the Samaroli glass.

Thanks very much! I noticed, too, that higher ABV often comes quite strong in the 1920s glass. Samaroli describes that they deliberately designed the glass ‚to break the alcohol molecules‘. To this end, I find it quite appealing for higher ABV rums.

You mean all those taller glasses? I put classic glencairn glass in the dishwasher regularly and so far (in two years) nothing has broken. :crossed_fingers:

With Glencairns, the issue with breaking is not so big indeed. They just could get a little ugly / worn.

Not really. They are the same height but samaroli is very wide at the bottom.
