I once had a sample of the 2012 PM from Barikenn. It was also quite dark and unusually caramel-like for the profile.
So the wax look is kind of… well, I’m curious to see what it actually looks like (and how many complaints come in about damaged deliveries). @RobBauer who is actually responsible for the images/artwork on the labels (Sins, Virtues, Swell)?

With the Bacchanalia Project, we’re definitely taking a high risk. As shown in the mockups, none of the bottles will be perfect. Quite the opposite, in fact. That’s precisely the point! 
Each bottle will be an individual »sculpture« with edges and corners, unevenness and cracks. You’ll even have to »work« a bit to open the bottle. In other words, a fill as imperfect and idiosyncratic as life itself. 
Doing something that no one has done before.
Regarding your question about the labels. I usually have a pretty clear vision or idea of what symbolism, art, and history/message I want on the respective label for the respective barrel. Which figures should do what, for example. The result is always a collaboration between intensive designer work (here Bastien from Swell), a bit of AI, and a lot of Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator

If it were the brittle wax that some Armagnac houses use, I’d personally probably just open the bottle by smashing it and then filtering it

I opened that Armagnac from TWJ recently. The wax was like cement. Hard and crumbly.
And I can already picture poor Daniel having to open 5 bottles of it in a row

Yeah absolutely! The one from Swell is really flexible. You can easily cut around it with a knife.
With the Armagnac stuff you sometimes go crazy with all that rigid crumbly mess!
Honestly, the price for the REV sounds almost too good these days
