Since then, We’ve tried adding a few month in an ex bourbon cask to soften this rum. But it seems it can’t be controlled that easily.

Marzipan, roasted nuts, milk chocolate, bourbon vanilla… The associated tasting notes certainly read as OWH.

It’s not impossible that a cask gets marked wrongly. And certainly not unlikely that information on a cask gets a little hazy with casks moving in bulk and changing ownership. Isn’t there another example of this phenomenon? An IB LROK that tastes like a C<>H or something. I can’t recall exactly.
