Weil mir der Sinn überraschenderweise noch nach Caroni stand ist jetzt ein Trinidad Stock Blend im Glas…ein etwas ungestümer Vertreter aus 1996. Tropisch gelagerter Caroni bleibt trotzdem eindrücklich.

Of course, I had to taste it 
For a rum from cane juice, this is quite roasted. It’s certainly also very complex. Fruity and moderate on esters on the nose, some roasted and oaky notes jump in and gradually take over. In the finish there is even a small smoky note which works quite well.
There are some samples left for those who are interested.

Tatsächlich sind mir auch die Whisky Noten beim ersten probieren aufgefallen. Anscheinend beim <>H auch!? Schade. Der erste 2009 TDL von the Roots ist ziemlich gut.

Was ist denn eine “Whisky” Note? Da die meisten Rum in Bourbon Fässern gereift wurden müssten die doch alle dann eine “Whisky” Note haben oder?

That was a mistake sorry… I corrected it.
Although I must say that this one, like also some Foursquares, do have some resemblance to whisky.

Das war natürlich sehr versimpelt ausgedrückt. Etwas torfig Abgang passt vielleicht besser. 
Aber habe auch nur angenippt.

What a rum. Sugarcane is noticeable after these years, it’s flowery, fruity and grassy on the nose. In the mouth it gains a lot of density, roasted and earthy notes. It’s smooth, almost like a liqueur. The finish is long, pleasant, with grassy and fruity notes returning.
