I really like that set. Interested to read on your opinion on them. (Keep the price for a modern caroni in mind)

Super interesting tasting as the Casks are similar in a way but also very different.
Which were your favorites ?

I have already tasted those in the past. Cask 53 is the weakest, nothing to write home about. 190 was pretty good, 193 was my favorite and 216 a little weak again but better than 90. I paid a ridiculously low price for the set when it was on sale at Expert24, around 195€ and the set is well worth the money.

This set is really a cheap way to sample some 1997 Caronis and even if they aren’t 90 pointers one can spend a pleasant couple of hours with them.

Cask 193 and 190. Cask 216 is OK and 90 is the weakest.

Yes I also have them in the 83-86 range. But 0,8 l of fine caroni for below 200€ is just very well priced…

Interesting, as my notes are quite different.
I have to quote them again. I remember that the more you let them in the glass, the better they are.
But I agree totally on the price/quality.
Plus it’s quite interesting to compare similar casks !

Ich bin seit 5 Tagen mit der Familie auf Abwegen, wir wandern den Pfälzer Weinsteig und ihr werdet es kaum erraten, hier gibt es überall Wein zu trinken.
Heute übernachten wir aber in Böllenborn und hier gibt es gar nichts! Nicht mal Wein!

Zum Glück habe ich einige Samples eingepackt und es wär ja blöd wenn ich sie den ganzen Weg umsonst geschleppt hätte
