*** Oldies party ***

…when you are waiting for a package with bottles and a courier with a pallet is waiting for you in front of the house, it is always an experience :slightly_smiling_face:
I have a friend in France who goes around dilapidated shops, estates and looks for what to resell to someone. He resells bottles to me.
And now he cleaned out “someone’s grandfather’s house” and found 13 bottles at the bottom of the cupboard. All I saw was -

  • a metal label “Madeire 1866, 20ans”
  • Rhum 1863
  • Rhum Jamaica with a lead cork holder

and I knew that I had to have this treasure from the cellar.

After opening the box, the scent of apples spread throughout the room - one Eau de Vie couldn’t stand it and smelled of its wrapping paper. (The French primarily wrapped bottles in fine paper, and then in bubble wrap)
And on other bottles you can see that over the years the angels have taken quite a lot through the cork. Or maybe grandpa.

In any case - I bought the bottles to examine their contents. And not to watch them dry out.
So - who’s going to the oldies party?

And when?
