Thatās definitely doable ![]()
The last
is now revealed:
Iām really looking forward to the presale on Friday. The Notify Me list is definitely heating up already ![]()
Fair Price ![]()
Hi @Oliver ,
First of all nice to see youāre catering to both nerds and ānerds-to-beāsā, and let people get to taste a fair rum for a fair price tag. Compliments!
That said, I am curious to know through which shop the bottle will be send, will it be Armagnac.de ? I can then consider adding some extra bottles to spread shipping costs!
Cheers!
Thanks for the great feedback. That was exactly the idea behind it! ![]()

In addition to Wagemut, which ships throughout Europe, weāve gone the extra mile to distribute the bottles through several partner shops scattered across Europe, so that most RumX users can order with no/low shipping costs. ![]()
Armagnac.de will handle distribution outside of Europe (including the U.S.). Weāve also partnered with retailers in France (Rhum Attitude), Austria (delicando), Belgium (Rum Stylez), Denmark (WhikyWatcher), Italy (DalMoreShop), and Eastern Europe (Bondston) for this very special co-bottling. ![]()
Tomorrow Iām meeting Nicolas in Vienna. One agenda item is an interview for YouTube. Iād really like to integrate your community questions here too. So now you have the chance:
- What have you always wanted to ask Nicolas?
- What interests you most about him personally or about Wagemut in general?
Iām looking forward to every question from you. ![]()
Iām just gently reminded of the moment when, thanks to @Gunnar, we tasted something other than nerdy stuff in the blind tasting of the Don Papa Quincentennial
I wouldnāt find it far-fetched that Don Papa can also make good rums. My problem with the Ā»real rumsĀ« from Riese, Don Papa & Co is more the relatively high price. I suspect thatās part of the concept to create exclusivity through price.
But it would be interesting to get the base product from the Baroko or something like that, although I could imagine that would be rather disappointing ![]()
Regarding the Wagemut Interview, are there any updates about the distillery he wants to open?
Will we ever get an Origin from Wagemut XO or at least the new XO 2028 also as cask strength? That would be a 17-year-old Foursquare with a higher pot still component.
What approaches are being tried now to position Wagemut on the international market? The USA would certainly be THE market, but it canāt be reached through the YouTube pull effect thatās been so successful in Germany.
When will the rare treasures that Nico secured from Scheer in the Netherlands be bottled? Will there be finishes involved, or will the spirit come out like the Members Only 2026 without any frills?
Wagemut is supposed to get distilleries in Vietnam, Argentina, El Salvador, and actually also Madeira. Weāve seen how difficult thatās becoming, partly due to bureaucratic attitudes. So why not focus on tropical EU territories (especially France, since thereās no language barrier)? RĆ©union, French Guyana (maybe even with the option to poach someone from DDL Ā«next doorĀ»), or even Martinique, where an AOP production could even take place?
He merged with Freimeister Collective in Berlin and bought shares from them. Thatās his new distillery as far as I understand it.
Yes, thatās the rum distillery on Madeira I meant. The last thing I heard was that itās been difficult because of the administration. If heās now with Freimeister, does that put the international plans on ice for now?
That said, theoretically you could also make rum in Germany just as well as in the Caribbean (he certainly has the necessary laid-back attitude
). Only Agricole would be difficult, though, right? We donāt have sugarcane here.
Without wanting to make fun of it, but Iād really like to know if he even owns pants without suspenders
But with the small amount that Heimat Distillers grows, heāll hardly be able to get anything from it.
Sugarcane syrup (used for example in Clairin Le Rocher & Sonson) could in principle be imported.
What is the sugar content contributed by the sherry in the PX cask?
Question for Krƶger, but even more for independent tasters here in the forum, once the Wagemut Foursquare is out:
How does the Wagemut Foursquare compare to the Doorlyās 14?
And how do the two differ from each other, in the product (e.g., pot-column-still ratio, selection of casks used ā¦) and in taste?
Both pure Foursquare rums, both at a price point of around ā¬60.
Doorlyās is aged 4 years longer (10y vs. 14y), Wagemut has 16 more proof points (64% vs. 48%).
I want to restock in this segment over the next few weeks, but I only have the budget for one of the two bottles.
The preliminary limitation at Wagemut doesnāt bother me. If the rum sells well, Wagemut should be able to follow up with Edition 2.
PX-Cask: If one describes the PX-Cask more realistically as a rum-sherry blend, what are the rum proportions and sherry proportions in this blend?
Iād really like to know whatās coming next with the Ā«PurĀ» line. The limoncello was already deliciousā¦
the question that you had from the start⦠I mean, now you can calculate the answer from the alcohol content of the respective cask strengths. with a PX at 17 vol% that gives a share of about 11.5%.
No liability for any information ![]()
Just was in Vienna yesterday with @Nicolas_Kroeger. Now the first video is already out:

Iām happy about every like and comment from you ![]()

Nice video you two!
Great insights!
And itās awesome that Spirit Traveller is bringing out a little something from Pedro. Reizinho just makes the best stuff on Madeira!![]()
And Nicoās right: Madeira is just an incredibly beautiful island on all levels: scenery, culture, and food are absolutely top-notch!![]()
And Nico couldnāt have summed up Oli at RumX better: a user who built the app!![]()
Awesome!
Keep it up!
Youāre right, I hadnāt thought of that, the calculation is simple.
With a PX at 15% alcohol, the sherry content is about 11%.
At 11-11.5% sherry, the designation rum-sherry blend would already be appropriate.
