Sure, the bottling isn’t exactly cheap, but I’m still amazed that this grenade is still available on the primary market after four years with only 146 bottles.

That’s really more than surprising, it’s always been the insider tip. Be glad and maybe stock up on it.
But the hype around the Feindrams back then was so huge that many people didn’t have any money left for this one.
The '94 New Yarmouth is still around too

So far, LMDW has been anything but customer-friendly about this. Nothing has happened so far except that I was supposed to send photos of the front and back and packaging. Front and back without a label is pretty funny. If nothing comes by tomorrow, the bottle goes back and the split will unfortunately be canceled.

That would be a shame for the split participants! I understand your frustration, but the bottle seems quite rare. Cancel the split over a missing label?! Chances of another one should be slim. Maybe a poll in the split and decide democratically? No idea… your split, your decision! I’m just trying to shed light on the other side

Honestly, the bottle cost almost €300 and who guarantees that the STCE is actually in it. I know of another user here who ordered the Vale Royal and it also came without labels. And I’ve spent a five-figure sum on rum at LMDW over the past few years, so a little more cooperation from their side would be expected…

I understand your feeling but also what’s the probability this is the right rum without a label ? I would say pretty high… I would try to get a favor from LMDW for the fuck up but keep the bottle and split anyway… Just my point of view…

There’s no question that LMDW should be deeply ashamed of this action!
Apparently they’ve cancelled orders without a word again. Not a classy move at all. Unfortunately, they have a near-monopoly on some bottles… which makes boycotting them almost impossible.

Yeah this is unacceptable. Mistakes can happen, but the vendor should serve the customer a new bottle, or take it back to investigate themselves. If you open the bottle, there is no guarantee you did not swap out the liquid for something else, so that is out of the question.
Annoying to hear you aren’t getting the response you’d expect.

I look from another point of view, the bottle comes from Velier and they have boxes, labels and another things at the warehouse. Maybe they can give a label to you.
And this is a 21y single cask, like the lmdw 2005 16y stce 65% single cask which was very difficult to buy in 2022.
This kind of bottle we will never see more at the whisky.fr for a release price.
