I would give this an 7.8/10 pretty good.

Iâm not sure if itâs been mentioned yet, but replace roughly 20-30% of the cola with sparkling mineral water. It takes out a fair amount of the sweetness (the drink doesnât stick to your palate as much) without diluting the taste. Can only recommend it.

Iâm hearing that for the first time! But it could actually help with rums that arenât so dry

Sorry but that doesnât work for me anymore. As far as Iâm concerned, a sugar-reduced cola or zero would still be fine, but no sparkling water. At least I wouldnât call it that anymore. But to each their own.

Nah nah, with reduced sugar or even ~free, Iâm missing that full-bodied taste. Also not replacing regular Cola completely, just part of it. But I get it if you donât like it. Maybe just keep it in the back of your mind in case the 7th tastes a bit too sweet.

Before I ruin my Cuba Libre with Zero, Iâd rather try the âdiluted Coca Colaâ thing 
Edit: A colleague (now retired) bought a Cola from the canteen, then mixed a longdrink glass (~0.4l) with 2/3 water and 1/3 Cola ⌠I was absolutely gobsmacked when I saw that. But to each their own.

Sometimes a simple Brugal Anejo with a real Coca-Cola is just enough. A strong Cuba Libre!

It was actually always my favorite rum for Cuba libres. Price-performance ratio is really top-notch for a rum like that.
