I am currently struggling a little bit to keep my sample collection up to date in RumX. I’m opening this ticket to ask if anyone else would also feel like it would be helpful if we could use a list of RX numbers to bulk add samples to your collection. Right now the hurdle for me is that there are too many clicks per sample in the UI:
type RX number -> click correct bottle -> click "+" -> click "Add sample" -> "click save" -> click back
Six actions per sample. If i’m adding 15 samples, that’s 90 actions. Even more if i want to fill in the meta data per sample.
What I envision is a textfield where a list of RX numbers can be typed. Submitting the list of RX numbers takes you to a page where all found bottles are shown. Each result can optionally be clicked to change the purchase price, filling level, and number of millilitres just like you can do on the “add sample” page.
Confirm then adds all the RX numbers as a sample. Obviously the same logic can be reused to bulk-add bottles to the collection, but to me this is less appealing because i’m not adding as much bottles at the same time.

The click count is what made me go and look at the data. You’re not alone with this. Well over a hundred people here keep sample collections, and the ones who do add around 15 samples every three months. And it’s not a steady trickle, a third of all sample entries land on 15 days out of 90. So people log a whole swap package in one sitting, exactly like you describe.
Two things I’d want to know before building anything.
How many do you add in one go, 5, 15, 50?
And would “paste the list, confirm, done” already help if the entries came in bare, no volume, no price, no date? Or is setting those once for the whole batch the part that actually saves you the clicks?
If it gets built it would be RX+, saying that now so nobody’s surprised later, because it will be a huge development effort. And in case it helps today, you can already export your collection as CSV from the statistics screen, RumX IDs in the first column.
Not promising anything yet. A few “yes, and here’s my number” and it moves up the list.
I’d use it, my Number would more likely be around 5/10.
I have a huge backog I’m not going through exactly because it’s time consuming so I’ll be really happy to have this feature, being also with no strings attached. Maybe only useful infos in a bulk can be the volume (maybe making It fixed for all of the entries) and bought from. But even without that It would be great of you add It.
Between 15 and 50 I would say. I keep my samples at a german hub, and therefore receive large batches at the same time. All of those I would like to add to the sample collection in one effort.
Being able to add them without any additional info would already be really helpful. The main use of keeping my samples logged in RumX is to prevent me buying samples I already own or have owned.
