Horses Neck but not with the VSOP on the picture but my Cognac Park / Tariquet Armagnac infinity blend infused with tonkabean 
5cl Armagnac/Cognac blend
2 dash Scrappy’s Black Lemon Bitters
1 big-ass orange peel (to remind of a horses neck)
Fevertree Ginger Ale (the best ginger ale ever IMHO)

Has anyone got experience with Asbach 8 Year? I’m looking for a reasonably priced cognac alternative for mixing and I was wondering if it would work for that.

If anything, Asbach then the 21-year is actually quite good, but honestly there are plenty of great cognacs and armagnacs and brandies that won’t break the bank if you avoid the big brands…
Asbach 8 is decent enough for cocktails but nothing more than that.
