Ja, kickt mich jetzt auch nicht sonderlich.
Vielleicht haben Spirit of Rum die Abfüllung nächstes Wochenende bei der München Spirits dabei, dann werde ich mal probieren. Eventuell überzeugt er mich ja dann doch.

Also mich als LP-Skeptiker hat der Rum absolut überzeugt. 
Aber da ich auch “Bauerngaumen “ genannt werde, müsst ihr mir nicht glauben!

Der fast schon legendäre 1993er von Plantation war/ist auch ein CRV - auch wenn da ein paar Jahre dazwischen liegen. Low Ester/Column Stil mit viel tropischer Reifung hat für mich schon immer Potential. Für mich persönlich tatsächlich die erste Rumclub Abfüllung seit langem, die mich wieder richtig reizt.

den 1993er Plantation fand ich auch richtig stark. Ich denke aber, dass der in seiner eigenen Liga spielt. Die 2009er Plantation CRVs waren dagegen ja recht bescheiden (allerdings auch verdünnt). Interessant finde ich den Bedford Park 2004 CRV (RX23021) Der dürfte eine gute Benchmark sein.

Den hatte ich gar nicht auf dem Schirm - ist aber ein US-Release oder? Die Bewertungen sind ja sehr hoch, aber außer @xasmx kenne ich keinen der User.

aus UK (noch kein EU Import bisher). Die 81 und 85 Punkte Bewertungen halte ich für realistisch, die anderen um 90 bestimmt so push-Bewertungen (wie es sie mittlerweile leider häufiger gibt in der App)

I’d take the ratings of any Bedford Park bottlings with a huge grain of salt. I think it’s pretty obvious that they have been front loaded with fake reviews in some kind of a marketing stunt gone wrong. Which is sad, because based on my experience the bottlings themselves have been of good quality, just not that good quality.

These kinds of reviews are really becoming a nuisance, and they’re getting more and more common. I know it’s a complex issue to address, but it genuinely undermines the trust we can place in overall scores. Some cases, though, are so blatant that they should be automatically flagged and removed. For example, there’s a user called Vinologues who posted seven out of eight reviews as 10/10 for Vagabond Spirits releases… I reported it, but it’s still there. Is anything being worked on to tackle this, @Oliver ?

I see the issue, but I’m not a fan of automatic removing simply because it could be legit (some people use the 1-2-3…8-9-10 scale and skip the fractions). And it would really frustrate those users. Invisible flagging could help, but deleting should be done with a bit more human oversight.
Maybe the “not enough ratings” logic could be expanded upon and introduce some sort of weighting by the number of total reviews by that user (as a measure for seniority). I.e. 3 reviews from users with 50+ ratings would lead to a score but that threshold moves to 10 reviews by users with a review count of less than 10 reviews each. The median (instead of average) approach already ignores the outliers in a way – unless there is a majority of “fake” reviews.
