How’s this one compared to the previous release ?
I didn’t manage to catch a bottle this year but I really like the 2025 edition.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try the previous edition so I couldn’t compare with 2026.
Though I can give you my feedback on this one: it is a sipper, easy drinking, not overly complex since it’s “only” barreled for 5 years, yet a lot of things happen in there. The nose and taste are vanilla-pastry upfront, as often with Savanna imo. Light esters, woody, pineapple and floral, the final taste is medium-long on the vanilla and a hint of olives. A bit of sugar with the porto barrel but in a good way.

Für mich einer der besten die ich bisher probiert habe.
Ultra Fruchtig Ester … herrlich komplex, ein Rum für den man sich viel Zeit lassen sollte.

Die klassischen Navy Rums nebeneinander (RX16663, RX26, RX183). Diesmal mit Music-Pairing an Stelle von Food-Pairing 
Der RX26 zusammen mit Pneuma von der Band Tool kommt genial (was für Metal Fans).

I went for a second glass. This Cuban rum is an odd ball, caramel toffee, sweet popcorn, lots of yeast and fermented note. Lovely weird, doesn’t feel at all like a classical Cuban rum - RX26172

Hast du schon andere gereifte Le Galions probiert? Ich hatte bisher nur den RX12488 im Glas, den fand ich sehr geil. Der Ester Hunter ist älter aber das Fass war vielleicht (der Farbe nach) deutlich ausgelutschter.
