Wo liest du unaged? Ich lese “High Ester & Glass Cask Blend”. Glass Cask heißt bei Mhoba Dame Jeanne (Glasballon) mit Wood Chips drin – wenn ich mich recht erinnere. Duch die Wood Chips kommt schon Farbe.

Ja, werde ihm nochmal eine 2te Chance geben. Der ist ja auch nicht schlecht, nur haben mich die anderen mehr überzeugt. Jammern auf hohem Niveau …

Did some scientific research for all of you by tasting the 2022, 2023 and 2024 Pagos (Pagi?) next to each other.
The 2023 is the clear loser. I get way too much rubber/sulphuric notes from the 2023 Pagos. It simply loses touch with Hampden or a good sherry finish.
Then things get more even: you recognise more Hampden in the 2022 Pagos but the profile is a bit more one-dimensional than with the 2024. The 2022 has a more general sweet profile because of its finish whereas the finish of the 2024 Pagos really adds layers of flavour to the profile of the rum. That does kill off the Hampden profile a little bit.
I thought the 2024 Pagos is more interesting than the 2022, and therefore my winner.
That being said, a good Hampden actually does not need a sherry finish and I would like to drink my Hampdens without.
If there will be a 2025 edition (since it does not seem to be too successful), I hope the finish will be adding the complexity of the 2024 without losing too much of the original Hampden profile.
