There are hints of the great NY (CoR and distillia). However too much of of a bourbon influence for me. Definitely not worthy of a 9 in the reviews. Maybe an 8.2

Bedford Park in general seems to be rated in a … let’s say peculiar way. Most of them flying quite high. 9.4 for a 2000 LROK seems… interesting. Or is it biased because there’s not much good booze on the island?!

Ich hänge bei Cuba Libre immer an Cuba fest.

Mein Standard ist der Santiago de Cuba 11 Jahre mit einer Jarritos Mexican Cola. Die ist mit Rohrzucker gesüßt. Preislich nicht drüber und gibt mir eben diesen Cuba-Vibe. Werde aber einige der Vorschläge gerne mal ausprobieren.

I only mix my rum as I don’t like any spirits neat unless it’s a shot. If you get a chance any of the foursquare exceptional casks. Any caroni. Trust me…

i was looking forward to this. The nose reminds me of a typical NY. However the finish, like the 5 year old, is over-powered with oak. I didn’t pay full price for this bottle and I am still disappointed…

Interesting, but I’d say this is where your milage varies from most people here on this forum. Diluting with coke is widely* regarded as abomination when it comes to “high end” (read: high dollar) rums. I guess the reasoning is why dump 200+ on a bottle just to drown it in coke?! The neat experience is just so much more fulfilling (or so we think).
Disclaimer: I never had a Caroni & Coke myself because I’m also one of these “what a waste” guys … not sure I can bring myself to do that.

*) not counting zabo et al. — they know no pain when it comes to rum & coke

Die alte nicht mehr so gut erhältliche fever tree spiced Madagascar cola war für mich der absolute game changer für cuba libre…
Ansonsten bleib ich wenn ich sowas überhaupt Mal trinke simpel bei einem brugal anejo oder auch 1731 7y Belize Rum aber mittlerweile ist es nicht mehr mein Getränk
