Whisky Live Hamburg is taking place again this year - on 10/10.
I have to say, the exhibitors’ program doesn’t appeal to me as a non-whisky drinker, but apparently the on-site impression last year was significantly better than expected beforehand.
So far I don’t have any appointments on 10/10 and maybe I would go there.
Who’s coming?
Would you, those of you who were there last year, recommend the event? (@Schnubbii & @KevinDK )
I was there and I’ll be going again this year. Despite the focus on whisky, there was enough rum for my taste as well, e.g. Hampden and FRC. I didn’t even make it to the WDC stand, though we took it easy anyway and attended two masterclasses.
I’d love to meet you and others from the forum there! (Kevin will be there again anyway )
We’ve finally reached the point where Rosewood is going live. At Whisky Live in Hamburg, we’re introducing the brand for the first time and offering a complimentary masterclass.
I found the story behind the name fascinating from the start: Rosewood already appeared in the brand portfolio of W. L. Weller & Sons in 19th-century Louisville. With Prohibition, the brand initially disappeared, but in the 1930s and 1940s it existed again as Rosewood Kentucky Straight Bourbon. After that, things went quiet again around Rosewood. You might even recognize the name from »The Shawshank Redemption« – a Rosewood bottle can be seen in that film.
Josh and I personally selected the first 50 barrels for the restart in Bardstown. This resulted in four releases: a 7-year-old Bourbon, a 6-year-old Rye, a 4-year-old Wheated Bourbon, and a 7-year-old Bourbon at 107 Proof.
If any of you are at Whisky Live Hamburg: Come join us at the masterclass. You can taste all four, grill us with questions, and of course just chat a bit with us about whiskey. Admission to the masterclass is free.
