General gebe ich dir recht. Darfst die „Rum Nerd Bubble“ (Kapazität in DE vermutlich keine 1000 Mann stark) aber nicht zu hoch bewerten. Solche Konzernbottlings, bzw. bekanntere Marken stehen auch in gut sortieren Supermärkten und werden da vom Familien-Papa , der Abends mit seinen Jungs abhängen mag, eingepackt . Und da darf es gerne auch mal verrückt sein.

Edit : am Ende entscheidet der Preispunkt. Alles bis 70€ vergrößert die Masse der Trinker massiv.

Ich bin beim Whisky mittlerweile auch wieder bei der klassischen Bourbonfassreifung angekommen. Die Finishs haben da schon wirklich überhand genommen und bei sind bei höherwertigen Abfüllungen leider mittlerweile Standard. Beim Rum war es anfangs zwar auch teilweise interressant, aber für mich lässt das leider auch schon wieder nach.

Bourbon Casks sind für mich meist auch immer die sicherste Bank. Wenn mich mal ein Sherry Butt überzeugt dann muss es wirklich noch vom alten Schlag sein. Diese Oldskool Sherry Noten von Nuss und Tabak und eben nicht Schwefel, Klebstoff und rauem Charakter.

Dafür das hier ständig Anti-Whisky-Stimmung aufkommt, haben aber ganz schön viele Whiskys in ihren Sample Listen 😉

p.s. Einen Sherry habe ich dort noch nie gesehen 😂

Bei der Farbe könnte schon was mit Sherry im Spiel sein. Aber Marco macht ja auch ganz gerne South Islay PX finish (die ich eigentlich meist ganz lecker finde… nur ob eine nachfolgene Spülung mit Rum eine gute Idee ist bleibt zweifelhaft).

Offene Flaschen Sherry versamplen macht jetzt eher wenig Sinn, auch wenn ein oxidativ ausgebauter Sherry im Kühlschrank offen ein paar Monate hält.

Das soll kein Wiederspruch sein, mich interessiert selber gerade die high ester/ex-Islay (bzw. ex-peated) Kombi.

Hab den FRC ex-Islay nur noch nicht mitgenommen, weil ich versuche, mich bei den Ausgaben zurückzuhalten.
