# Ultimate Tiki Cocktails (other than Mai Tai)

Ich scheine ja nicht der einzige hier zu sein, der sich Rum – außer zum puren Genuß – auch gerne mal als Cocktail zuführt. Neben dem Mai Tai (hier ist ja fast schon Tradition auch mal was netteres auszuprobieren) kommen meine Rums auch mal im Zombie (viel besser als man denkt, wenn gut gemacht), Jungle Bird, Three Dots and a Dash, Painkiller, Queens Park Swizzle und Co zum Einsatz. Dieser Thread soll also als Pendant zum “Ultimate Mai Tai” Thread offen für alle anderen tropischen Cocktails mit hochwertigem Rum sein.

Ich mache hier mal den Anfang mit einer sehr leckeren Jungle Bird Version, die ich heute mit dem neuen 2010 Cambridge ST ❤CE gemacht habe. Rezept unverändert, nur eben mit dem Cambridge. Also:  
1,5 Teile Rum, 0.75 Teile Campari, 1,5 Teile frischer Ananassaft, 0,5 Teile frischer Limettensaft, 0,5 Teile Demerara Sirup

Sehr tolle Idee und der Jungle Bird ist wirklich ein toller Drink.

Danke. Wirklich sau lecker. Wenn man den Cocktail probiert kann man gar nicht glauben, dass da kein Kirschlikör oder Kirschensirup drin ist. Da entsteht ein richtig cooles Geschmacksprofil und ich weiß jetzt schon, dass ich von dem mehr Flaschen brauche 🤣

I brought something else from my recent US trip this time and tried making Zombie following Hamilton’s recipe (2 oz  
own rum blend, 3/4oz lime, 1/2 oz grapefruit, falernum, cinnamon sirup, 8 drops of grenadine, angostura). I garnished it with dried orange wedge, mint, vanilla and cinnamonsticks. I remember that there is a superstition that you need to decorate the Zombie cocktail with exactly four garnishes, which is probably derived from Voodoo tradition. It’s a great cocktail but highly potent 😉

If you like a Zombie, I highly suggest you try the Aku Aku version of the drink. It’s a streamline that fixes the balancing issues without losing its essence.

Distinguished Spirits has a great video about it on YouTube.
