# Translate functionality chat channels

Hi Oliver,

I would love for the chat channels to also include a translate button behind each message, or maybe even a setting to translate all messages by default. My German is alright but not good enough, especially after a few glasses.

Hi @Oliver,

Bumping this topic again, as it was annoying me that I cannot follow the discussions in the Lounge chat channel. Would love to have this implemented or help with the requirements.

I kindly ask for the same thing.. It gets annoying with external tools and having It embedded would be great

As mentioned a few times the forum (incl. the chat) is being used „as is" with minimal changes possible by Oliver. So as long as the forum provider does not include translations in the chat there is not much that Oliver can do about it…

I see. That is unfortunate as I feel somewhat excluded from those chats.

I suppose I can ask if we could keep conversations in the chats in English, but i’m not sure that would be received well or listened to. I wll try.
