Storage of samples

Dear members,

This might be a weird question, but I was wondering how you guys store all your samples in a proper/neat way? Especially, the people who have larger collections of samples, how do you keep everything organized?
What containers/boxes do you use, if any?
Are you able to keep the samples separated between distilleries/brands?
I’m curious to see your setups!

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Philip

Hi Philip,

I use Euroboxes to storage my samples. So you can built a tower with wheels. How many boxes is a question of how many samples.

Hi… good Question. I am not very happy with the way i storage my samples at the moment. I would also like to know, what you would call a larger collection… more than 500? or 1000?

At the moment i have an old IKEA Pax closet 100x35x236 and the samples are sorted in groups like Hampden, New Yarmouth, TDL, etc. But in the larger groups with more than 100 samples it is getting difficult to remember which are there.

I have 2000+ samples and just store them in large heavy duty cardboard boxes

I was wondering the same thing.

Maybe @KevinDK can chime in?
I believe you have one or two samples?:face_with_peeking_eye:

EDIT: what timing

But where do you storage the boxes  i had boxes, but they got very heavy in the end. Important of course like with big bottles.. storage must be dark, dry and not to hot in the summer.

Bspw.

I’m currently not happy with my storage boxes either…
I have by no means a “large” collection, maybe 100 samples in total, but I was curious about good storage ideas. I also keep all empty sample bottles, so that stacks up as well.
I don’t want to dedicate a separate cabinet to it, so I want to stick with boxes that I can put away.
As you say, keeping track of what you have exactly can be a challenge as well.

You can also use RumX to track your samples. But that wont help you finding them. That will just stop you from buying samples twice…

Actually, I like the idea of Euroboxes a lot!
Thanks for the suggestion! :+1:

Hallo Philip,
