Sehr schön . Der 2021 ist für mich einfach nix … zu jung zu Sherry … trotzdem toller Mai Tai ---

Mal noch eine Frage an die Mai Tai Experten hier.. Wollte gerne mal einen wirklich günstigen Mai Tai mixen. Würde den Liber & Co hierfür gegen Meneau austauschen (den wollte ich sowieso gerne mal probieren). Was wäre eure Alternative zum Ferrand? Beim Rum hatte ich an [RX43](https://rumx.com/en/rums/43/) gedacht. Alternativ frage ich mich ob auch der [RX9767](https://rumx.com/en/rums/9767/) funktionieren könnte? Oder habt ihr hier noch weitere Ideen? Bin dankbar für Tipps jeder Art 🙂 ---

Rum Technisch ist der [RX43](https://rumx.com/en/rums/43/) schon keine schlechte Wahl außerdem kann ich empfehlen: [RX9819](https://rumx.com/en/rums/9819/) , [RX2309](https://rumx.com/en/rums/2309/) , [RX3128](https://rumx.com/en/rums/3128/) , [RX21831](https://rumx.com/en/rums/21831/) , [RX96](https://rumx.com/en/rums/96/) . Das ist dann natürlich eine ganz andere Klasse dennoch lecker und vernünftig im Kurs . ---

Vielen Dank euch beiden 🙂 @SaibotZtar wer soll denn dann als Experte durchgehen? 😅 Den [RX3128](https://rumx.com/en/rums/3128/) hatte ich tatsächlich schon mal probiert und für gut befunden 🙂 Den [RX21831](https://rumx.com/en/rums/21831/) könnte ich mal testen und zur Not pur trinken, da hat er mir ganz gut gefallen, wenn auch etwas leicht. [RX822](https://rumx.com/en/rums/822/), [RX9819](https://rumx.com/en/rums/9819/) und [RX2309](https://rumx.com/en/rums/2309/) merke ich mir mal, da macht man wahrscheinlich wenig falsch für den Preis 🙂 [RX96](https://rumx.com/en/rums/96/) wollte ich eh bei einem guten Angebot mal kaufen (alleine weil mlr die Flasche echt gut gefällt). Der hat wahrscheinlich mit seinen 57% die meiste Wucht 🙂 Gut zu wissen, dass der [RX43](https://rumx.com/en/rums/43/) auch geht. Vom [RX9767](https://rumx.com/en/rums/9767/) nehme ich dann (für Mai Tai) erstmal Abstand. ---

The fun thing about tiki is the endless possibilities of blending rums. For instance 30ml [RX43](https://rumx.com/en/rums/43/) and 30ml [RX9767](https://rumx.com/en/rums/9767/) would work really well to provide a bit of (faux) age to the rather young Smith & Cross. My default tiki blend is 50/50 of a funky jamaican and (overproof) demerara rum. The most affordable combo there is Smith & Cross and Plantation OFTD. ---

And how does the Dry Curaçao Tropical come across? Do you notice a difference compared to the regular Ferrand Dry Curaçao? ---

Actually yes, the difference is quite striking. The original is sweeter, fruitier but also somewhat artificial (don’t know a better word for it) The Tropical seems more mature, drier with more depth but less fruit. Overall very interesting but I’m still undecided whether it’s the right fit for me in a Mai Tai. ---
