Hello from Thailand

From my experience I think I have to agree with you. For me every single bottling has hit all the notes. I’ve had the SBS also. I’ve always wondered how they managed to keep the proof so high despite all the humidity. Really top stuff.

We’re expanding to Europe next year! The domestic market in Thailand only gets 40% ABV bottles because of our regulations but we’re exporting at 47% and 51% for our white rhums.

Issan rum is great, it’s my go to in Thailand if the bar doesn’t have our stuff. I really rate their agricole highly.

We’re not available in Europe yet but hopefully Switzerland early 2027. In the meantime you’ll just have to come holiday in northern Thailand (oh the horror)

If you’re in Phuket, definitely visit Chalong Bay distillery. It’s definitely worth your time.

Let me know if you’re in Bangkok, we’ll get together for some drinks.

Of course!

I d like straight from the cask experience.I ll stay an hour drive away from distillery. Do you perhaps have any proper contact for this except official ones?Thx

Right now I don’t think anyone in Thailand can offer a cask experience. Our laws don’t allow for cask aging (yet). We’re currently applying for a new license that will allow cask aging but since they announced it in Jan, no one has managed to get approved. If we get it approved we’ll get some casks going right away but of course it’ll take time to improve the spirit.

For now you can go on the website www.choengdoi.com, instagram @choengdoidistillery or just drop me a message. If we can’t do a cask experience we can try to think something else.

RX13441 Chalong Bay distillery

It has been aged in barrels for more than 2 years.

Perhaps it is worthy contacting them officialy.

that series is aged in France by their importer LMDW. They ship unaged spirit to LMDW to be aged there. Those also aren’t available for sale in Thailand yet (I think they would be subject to import tax like every other imported alcohol despite its origin).

I think that I’ve heard about this situation before, where some of the barrels had to be aged in the Philippines because of this restriction.

Hi!

Slight change of plans, as I will probably come to your hometown Chiang Mai for 2 days around 29.10.
